For the regular readers, among you, you will recall a few weeks back we delivered a stunning mix from Mario Liberti. We now present a Free Download from one of his joint aliases Sons of Immigrants, alongside studio partner Rafael Pineda. This longstanding pairing has been working hard in the studio as well as on the road, and their published work is set to stand the test of time. In joint mode their releases on Pleasurezone, Amam, and Mr. Nice Guy all have a timeless quality that will most definitely see DJs discover and rediscover for many years to come.
As you will have come to expect from Sons of Immigrants, no punches are pulled when crafting intense soundscapes, and from the outset, the sub bass tones of are not to be trifled with. Faint hi-hats are added to the mix to ensure percussion is deft but meaningful as are the short, verby snares. What begins as a functional bomb soon explodes into a track bristling with character and musical nous. The squelchy synths that soon join the action alongside the higher octave synth reminiscent of 90s hip hop really smacks.
