Bucharest based duo Unisson shape the third release for Raw Crafted Wax.
The Romanian project has made its mark on the minimal circuit with a number of releases on their self-titled imprint, gaining support from the likes of Sepp and Petre Inspirescu.
Four elegant club cuts meander through dreamy headspaces in their latest output, lending itself kindly to the identity of Portsmouth based outfit Raw Crafted Wax.
‘Take a break’ delves into deeper, emotive territories in the featured premiere. Slippery, broken drums zip between a warm sub bass wrapping around a bed of tender and reassuring textures.
Elements carry an alluring, cathartic-like character which is present throughout much of the duo’s catalogue. Introspective track titles like ‘It’s That Truth Inside Of Me’ and the featured ‘Take A Break’ nod towards the curious and philosophical motives that comes through in the music.
‘Medusa Merger’ opens the EP with a more sprightly affair. Plucky chords loop over quirky atmospheres, whilst ‘Openminder’ bends a stunning glassy melody around scratchy drums, and a peculiar thought-provoking bassline perfect for the intimate, after-hour dance floor.
The title track ‘Passo Dobre’ concludes the record on the flip with another unique expression in this solid, diverse EP.
