UnExposed Records hits the sizeable milestone of their 20th release with a four-track EP from vault.
With all four tracks headed down a room-filling electro route, we begin our view of the EP with A2 track “Spook y Scary”. Just in time for the upcoming Halloween holidays, this acid monster will have the dancefloor locked into the rolling snares and breaky grooves in no time.
A1 track “Alienated By Silence” is just as epic, but on a more cinematic scale. Detuned bass stabs and vox clips create the necessary energy to power most parties. Flickering hi-hats soon give way to more hopeful synths, which act as a great contrast to the rest of the track.
Next comes “Wobble Machine 5000”, and there is little disguising the track’s content here. Rib-cracking snares, huge basslines, and enough sub movement to destabilise the Earth’s core.
Rounding out UX020 is a joint effort from vault. and Haplea, and “Two Heroes” is the perfect title, as these two artists combine to present a hypnotic groover. Leaning heavily on a distorted acid synth, the addition of a huge bounding bassline, looped vocal clips, and interlocking percussion is a fitting conclusion to such an important release for the label.
