US-born, Bali-based producer and DJ vault. is launching Hunnybuns, the newest addition in the world of wax, a vinyl-only label for which he collaborated with no less than four artists on its first release. He cooked some truly proper club-ready bangers that we’re more than eager to hear.
Starting off with our premiered track, vault’s collaboration with Isaac Elejalde “Just Melt” on side B2 gets you in the mood right from the beginning, with a pulsating bassline and an infectious rhythm you can’t easily ignore. Spiked with voices and sirens that will leave you out of breath, this is a track that’s going to keep the dancefloor busy.
Flipping back to the A-side, Gastón Cabrera’s “Inhumano” on A1 slides into a darker territory. A moody melodic line accompanied by subtle vocal samples set the tone for this certified club weapon. The groove builds to a haunting peak, and you want more.
“La Fiebre”, Alfalfa’s track on A2 tickles your ears with eerie bells, and builds from bass fundamentals into something more driving. Sprinkled with acid notes and a unexpected twists, it’s like the calm before the storm that keeps you intrigued and present in the moment, waiting to see what’s next.
Hypnotic synths and otherworldly pads characterize Marcos Coya’s “The Underdog” on B1. Puzzling, subtle vocals drift on and off as the track does its magic. Can’t sit down on this one.
