For the second edition of Alessio Barletta’s Overnight imprint, he has the four-track “Stealth Disorder” EP primed and ready.
Our pick of the release is the muscular “Subvector”, but the tough premise of the release does not lie solely with this A2 track. Arpeggiating basslines are the order of the day here, and along with it, a dark and moody sound palette. Soaring synths and zappy FX combine nicely to produce a fire-breathing electro weapon. Side A is completed by “Ghostless”, an equally impactful bass-fueled scenario that makes full use of the laser-guided bass tones and stripped back grooves.
Over on side B, “Intruder” edges down a more sleek, streamlined route with slightly trancey, elongated synth-based offerings. With the power surging through the lower end, you can feel the essence of the track being harnessed like an untethered nuclear reactor. Completing the track is “Aftertrace”, and similarly, the detuned synths are at the very centre of the meteoric power that Barletta has long managed to master.
