Trommel.256 – Tijana T

Before Belgrade’s club scene was exporting DJs, Tijana Todorović was presenting music television and radio there, and for years she was the face of EXIT. In 2006 she took that profile abroad, touring Europe with Abe Duque in a live vocal-and-machines show that played Watergate, Robert Johnson and Space Ibiza.

The DJ career came next. Residencies at Drugstore and Klub 20/44 gave her the long, patient sets that shaped her. Then the firsts: in 2013 she became the first Serbian to play We Love at Space Ibiza, and in 2014 she made her Berghain/Panorama Bar debut, followed by Boiler Room, Output and Dimensions. In April 2020, she played a 12-hour lockdown stream from Drugstore. Since those days, Tijana’s profile has soared, and she now regularly appears at the likes of Berghain as well as many of your favourite festivals and clubs worldwide.

Tijana T has grown to become a world power in electronic music, with each facet of her artistic prowess demanding as much respect as the next. We are now very excited to present a mix from the Serbian artist as she exemplifies just why she is such a worldwide force. Moving from atmospheric techno to more stripped-back forms via emotive segues, this mix never seems hurried and seldom is a beat wasted when transitioning to higher (or lower ground). With many of the tracks unfurling a new side to the mix as the mix progresses, a fine thread stretches out like golden yarn to the many sounds that Tijana commands.
