Robust and rolling grooves in “Resonance” as the duo shape up sounds that pack some mighty dance floor mojo whilst keeping it slick.
Italian outfit VIBRA are back with another strong suit of cutting-edge dance floor goodies; this time round sees a collaborative effort from DR. BLAME and Lorenzo Del Po as they present “Memory Loop EP”. The title may well have been inspired by reflecting back on their B2B performances at Magicroom events; who knows!
Based in Trieste, in the far northeast, the VIBRA crew have been cementing their sound, releasing a host of old-skool-inspired, experimental and downright infectious beats that span house, electro, breakbeat, minimal, acid and more. Their signature can be defined in the raw and simplistic character engendered by the bulk of their catalogue, undeniably moreish sounds that ooze with grooves. Previous releases have seen Relledocs, BAST, Roti, Bordeaux ITA, Everaldho and more shelling out some no-nonsense, electro-tinged and hypnotic bits.
Marking release number 15 for VIBRA, “Memory Loop EP” boots off with seismic oscillations in the form of “Resonance” that features some highly acidic, live-wire energy underpinned by solid drums and an unfaltering bassline that drives the groove home hard.Keeping things short but sweet, track 2 on the EP, “Upload” rounds things off with some nods to early dance music sounds delivered through a contemporary lens, as the bass plucks along cheerfully through a myriad of pads, melodies and harmonies that embellish with a gentle touch.
