Austrian label Mont Lake Records returns in 2022 and celebrate their fifth birthday with a new VA compilation.
Austrian DJ and producer Alexander Wirth, also known as the founder of Leap Records and of the Tante Emma Club in Innsbruck, takes the lead on the original track of the compilation. He’s starting the journey with ‘Right Place’ a deep house piece in between hypnotic synth element and female vocals.
For the remix duty, they called Russian artist Andrew Guyvoronsky aka Tripmastaz, one of Trommel’s favourite. He’s bringing down his strong groovy minimal imprint onto the record with a remix version of ‘Right Place’ on the A2, and a dub version for the B side.
Tripmastaz remix on the A2 keeps the deep atmosphere on a one hand as he’s adding subtle kicks and texture onto the track. He goes through a stellar groove that keeps changing and evolving as the track continues it eleven-minute journey. The producer playfully adds sprinkles of synth noises to keep people on their toes while the majestic pad from the original makes an appearance, used more this time as an element of surprise and not as a main feature of the remix.
Mont Lake Records was launched in 2018 by Blossom Kollektiv’s Miguel Morgado and Afaire. Politic of the house: each release is vinyl only, strictly limited to 200 copies per pressing. But as it is their 5th birthday, they’ve included a bonus track only on bandcamp for MLR006, so grab your copy before it’s too late!
The record is available in your favourite digging platforms and very probably at your local record shop.
