Now in its third year, the Italian label Connessioni founded by Lorenzo Fortino continues a fine streak of releases with its first single “Egal”, a timeless track for which Fortino joined forces with his decade-long friend Francesco Salvadori and emerging artist Geraldine on her musical debut as a vocalist.
Lorenzo Fortino is a truly devoted artist who certainly did not go unnoticed in the Italian music sphere, being a mass contributor to how it has been shaped in the past few decades. Fortino and Salvadori, the co-founder of ZEL and a key figure of the Italian music scene as well, first met at Sweep Studio in Berlin, and what truly brought them together and laid the foundation of their long-lasting friendship was their shared desire to create something distinctive and out of the ordinary.
Berlin-based singer Geraldine joined this journey later on, and for her debut collaboration, she accompanied them in this creative musical affair with her outstanding voice that added a charming character to the track and left an ingrained mark on it.
Pulsating drums, slowly followed by a cyber-like melodic line are paving the way for “Egal” within the first seconds of its intro. Geraldine’s mystical and seductive voice makes its way in shortly after, elevating the track with her sensual whispers and smooth flow of words. Techno, electro, and EBM elements blend in harmony, forming a charming symbiosis that combines the dreaminess of a summer after-hours gathering at sunset with the energy and rawness of a night-long Berlin rave.
Once again, Fortino proved his talent and sixth sense by choosing to collaborate with the equally talented Francesco Salvadori and Geraldine, and together they delivered a remarkable work that will surely draw attention.
“Egal” will be officially released on March 10th and until then it can be pre-ordered here.
