Having defined London’s Sunday daytime clubbing scene, the Secretsundaze series of parties left an indelible mark that the rest of the world could only try to follow. Its co-founding father turned main protagonist James Priestley remains a driving force in the underground dance music community and continues to spread the good word of music in all its variants across the world.
In recent years, James has enjoyed a renewed musical direction with the arrival of his new imprint 9FINITY, releasing outward looking music from the likes of Liquid Earth & DJ Life. The coming months will see James continuing to update his own impressive discography and truly diverse label back catalogue as he releases on some very well-respected labels. As well as record based outings James has also crafted and curates one of London’s finest multi-venue festivals in Multi Multi as well as enjoying great success with his Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble live project.
With James Priestley having more than a few strings to his bow, one thing we can say for certain is his ear for a hot track regardless of genre is unrivalled. Having caught his set at the recent Fly To The Moon Festival in Koh Mak, Thailand we are thrilled to welcome James to our podcast series. Threading together styles and moods is what James does best, so it is no surprise to hear during the course of his mix that he effortlessly joins the dots between deeper shades of house, percussive techno, notes of progressive, flecks of booty bass, stripped back moments, and some unreleased gems that should be sought out when they arrive later this year. This is one for the books, so treat yourself to an hour off from life and step into the multiverse of Secretsundaze.
