Berlin based artist Anthea is a well-known figure head of the world minimal scene. Her longstanding residencies at the likes of Berlin’s Club der Visionaere, Moscow’s Rodnya, as well as featuring at all the major stop off around the globe has propelled the Brit into the collective consciousness of our community. Through her incendiary DJ sets, forward thinking productions and her essential imprint Partisan which is home to upfront releases from Giammarco Orsini, Charonne and LVCA. Anthea is also set to take her label story even further alongside Valesco with the offshoot imprint PILLZ featuring collaborations and close friends with the first release coming later this summer from Francesco Carvetta.
Anthea’s high octane take on electronic music perfectly dovetails with that of long time label mate and close friend Oshana. Their mutual love of spacey funk-edged dancefloor bombs has also resulted in the pair creating the duo Astral Travel. However, for Anthea’s bookmark in our podcast series we find her in solo mode and she shows exactly why she has remained at the peak of her powers since day one. Lush pads, angular basslines, a cosmic sound palate and tight mixing all combine to produce a bumpy ride into outer space.
