Having been co-founded by American house don Chez Damier, The Gathering series of events hold dear their ethos of keeping their parties intimate. As well as maintaining a close-knit atmosphere that transfers from the booth to the dancefloor, the whole run time of the event is geared towards forging new friendships and nurturing brand-new ones. Another element that set The Gathering apart is its artistic approach to its events, this is something that is just as finely curated as their lineups.
For their next event, The Gathering return to Paris and after their event back in January that saw the joint birthday bash for Chez Damier and Ben Vedren which delivered a night to remember that was enhanced by a set from a certain Chilean minimal talisman. For their next event on Saturday, September 28th, The Gathering have another barn-storming party in the making.
Taking up residence at Parisian hotspot Le 211, The Gathering have lined up an outrageous team of artist that is headed up none other than Mathew Jonson. The Canadian’s influence in the world of electronic music is a well-told tale, and for good reason. His live performances are revered and respected as are his solo and group projects, for an example of this look no further than his offering for our landmark 200th podcast. In keeping with the family orientation joining Mathew will be his real-life partner EVGHENIIA, a talented musician in her own right who has, in the recent past wowed a sold-out Berliner Philharmoniker. On this occasion, she will be in DJ mode where she will be delving into her inexhaustible bag of records to provide those feel-good moments.
Also appearing at this eagerly anticipated evening will be the Bizarre Trax trio of Charleze, Jhobei, and Oliver.r and if there was ever a group of DJ’s that could ensure that a party would pop off would be this band of selectors. A long-time family member of The Gathering and hometown hero Ben Vedren is also on the teamsheet. This Parisian artist has a long and illustrious career in the music industry and as well as being a talented DJ also has previous releases on imprints that include My King Is Light, Concrete Music, Minibar, Silver Network and his own Reduce label. Completing the lineup will be fellow Parisian Mathilde Rocaboy and her digging skills are well-known on the Euro circuit
With the artists for the evening more than taken care of, The Gathering will also be paying special care and attention to the staging of the event. Priding the acoustic aspects of their chosen venue for their parties as highly as the musical content, they will be installing their in-house bespoke sound system which is befitting of such a party. Having been road-tested by some of the finest which has been road-tested by some of the best in the business and completing the package will see Le 211 bathed in vibrant visuals. If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Paris then this should be top of your list.
