Over a decade down the line from their first parties, London minimal specialists Half Baked have more than outgrown the reductionist moniker. Minimal is still clearly very dear to their hearts as only just last month they welcomed one of the biggest names in the game in Raresh. A regular at Half Baked, the RPR man knows his crowd well and melds together all manner of sounds with a particular onus on more house and garage tinged bombs.
With summer ’22 beginning to fade into the rear view, but top raves such as their trip to the US to hook up with Resolute and Un_Mute, Shelter in Amsterdam and The Loft in Manchester all still remain the short term memory. Half Baked set their sights firmly on the business end of the year, and they also have a rather special Halloween party that will also double as a release party from a much-loved live act there will also be sets from SIT, Giuliano Lomonte, Cruz (PT) and Greg Brockmann. While sun kissed open air session are beginning to look less likely due to the inclement British weather there is plenty of heat on the horizon.
Squeezing the last of summer good times out of London’s East End will see the return of several old heads and firm favourites to their regular haunt of Studio 9294. Sadly, HB have had to revise their original plans of a day section of the party but this will of course mean that the focus will lie totally with the main night event. Taking pride of place at the top of the line-up is Frenchman, bonafide digger and all round legend Dyed Soundorom. His upfront selections, superhero ability to craft a vibe and smooth as butter mixing style have meant that his touring schedule are always packed to bursting. Either as part of Apollonia or flying solo the result is still the same – dancefloor devastation.
Joining Dyed under the bicycle will be another close family friend and Smallhours boss Youandewan. Fresh from nearly sinking their Dimensions boat party as the crowd were stomping so hard he will be bringing his signature riddim heavy record bag along for the ride. Completing the main card will be Half Baked mainstay Robin Ordell. Being part of the furniture since he began his journey through the London underground and it has given him the platform to truly emerge as a truly great artist. His micro leaning analogue heaters for the likes of Discobar, Half Baked and of course his own recent label No Time County are well known to the Half Baked faithful. I am sure you will agree that there is no better way to see out the summer than down by the canal with the Half Baked crew at the dials.
