Premiere: A1 – Guile – A Donde Vas [MVS002]

Mirror Vinyl release hits back with a solid V.A. for their second vinyl offering, featuring South American talents, Guile, Marcos Coya, Donnie Cosmo and Lucho.

It is with much pleasure we share track 1 from the A-side, “A Dónde Vas” from label owner and Buenos Aires-based producer and DJ, Guile. Vocal shots tell cautionary tales as they usher in deep resonant tones that hit all the parameters of classic dancefloor tackle as they set the scene for naughty bass plucks, some sweet filter modulation and squelchy synthesis, with constant reassurance from maniacal laughter and reminders to not be afraid. This is the kind of combination of sounds that when played at the right time, makes you forget that there is anything else beyond the dancefloor, fellow party people and a fat stack of speakers at the mercy of the DJ. Deep, dark and driving elements formulate a veritable dancefloor weapon.

Despite this only being their second vinyl release, Mirror have been busy with the label in the digital world as this month saw their 15th release. With EPs straight from the underground as Gus Bonani, Zolbaran, Tonydeepdisco, Atemporal and more share their works, Mirror have also called upon remixing skills from Furz, Guillermo De Caminos, Dani Labb, Bernat, Lautaro Scavuzzo and more, to form well-rounded releases across the board, celebrating artists from South America and further afield.

Following on from a sold-out debut vinyl release from Montei – packed with cosmic licks, lush pads and downright techy sequencing, this next slice promises that same strastospheric goodness throughout “Sudaritmo EP [MVS002]”

Dystopian waves permeate militant drum machines as bass grooves infect with impressive force, leaving no survivors in Marcos Coya’s “Sabés Que Sí”, with this contribution from the Montevidean producer bolstering the A-side as a force to be reckoned with.

On the flip, B1. boots off with some intergalactic funk from Colombian artist Donnie Cosmo and Shuffle Valley head-honcho as he shares “El Boogie Del Valle”, an exploration in swing, cosmic plucks and pads and a host of spacecraft-rumble type basslines and shots.

Lucho takes a step on the last track as he hits out with “7 Almas” which hears dubby pads floating atop a solid percussive body as acid lines sneakily intrude, activating all sorts of groove as elements react to the newfound energy, nicely executed fusion of sounds and styles from the American artist.
