Pioneering Moldovan artist Trippy Journey and founder of Binuria and Showcase ‘The Vision’ has spent the last two decades drilling down into his sound, which has resulted in several label projects. The first, in memory of Dollar, his late cat, saw its debut EP “Dollar Cat”, setting the tone with top-flight remixes from Prince de Takicardie and DOTT. This was soon followed by “Night Club”, which featured reworkings from Liquid Earth and Nebulaee. His label project was given an update with the arrival Trippy Dove, and for the occasion Prince de Takicardie, Nebulaee, and newcomers Aniano, Javier Carballo, and JJ Fortune join the man himself.
With his labels treading the more hypnotic side of stripped-back electro, we welcome Trippy Journey to our Free Download series with his wigged-out cut “Jazzie”. Sitting on top of a more minimal-leaning groove, the detuned, wonky synths dance around a collection of dusty key stabs while the deep, probing bassline infiltrates the deepest reach of the track.
