Trommel.217 – Radio Revolution

Korea’s music scene has been bubbling for some time, but it is in the process of exploding, largely thanks to the hard work of artists like Radio Revolution, a cornerstone resident DJ of his scene. The foresight and musical knowledge required for such a feat is one that Radio Revolution approaches with such methodical ease that it cannot help but transfer over to the overall aesthetic of the event, as well as its much lauded success. This deep understanding of the Korean scene and its place in the global community has allowed RR to develop his own legacy as well as helping domestic artists to emerge.

A lover of most shades of underground music, Radio Revolution has a soft spot for deep reductionist moods as typified by his recording for our podcast series. With his mix clocking in at a modest three hours long, RR winds through introverted deep house, stopping off at crunchy minimal, techy dub-infused jams, and psychedelic moments. In keeping with the evolving S.Korea underground scene, the grooves that unfold throughout the course of the mix are all about progression and evolution. This is a sentiment that has not gone unnoticed within the Asian scene as Radio Revolution continues to expand his influence to a growing fan base.
