Next month marks a rather special anniversary for London collective Half Baked, who are celebrating 15 years of hosting events. As they put it, ‘15 Years Of Love’.
Such a milestone makes for a time to reflect back on just how far they’ve come. Reminiscing over a decade and a half of revered parties, all the while booking the finest talents, nurturing top quality residents in the process. This is a moment in time for a solid community to celebrate together, an ever growing crowd of likeminded listeners who love a jolly good knees up. And that is exactly what’s planned for the shenanigans on Saturday 30th November.
As is often the case with Half Baked hedonism, the party will take place over a mammoth session spanning 22 hours, split across two of their favourite spaces, No 90 and Star Lane. As for the lineup, it’s certainly fitting for such a monumental occasion.
Top of the agenda is the sensation that is Sonja Moonear. A prominent figure since way back, she knows how to bring fuel for the fiesta. That blend of bubbling minimal and big electro basslines, for which she is so well revered. She’ll be joined by Dyed Soundorom, another artist made for the masterclass. The vinyl aficionado effortlessly works from one wax to the next, and it’s always a pleasure to see what the Parisian is packing in his record bag.
Berlin resident Giammarco Orsini will be bringing his own futuristic blend of rapid rhythms and high powered electro, next to Bas Ibellini representing the UK flavour of deep house. It was also recently announced that Remi Mazet will be slotting in a special live set. Mazet’s performances have caught some serious attention recently, particularly after he had a packed out Pavillion pumping, during a day time dance at this year’s Houghton Festival.
Of course, the much loved Half Baked residents will as ever be on hand. And they’re out in full force. These guys know the sound inside out, and they are the finest representations of the brand that has been built over the last fifteen years.
Robin Ordell and Greg Brockmann have been there since the beginning and they will no doubt be charged with emotion as they lay it down for this one. Sam Bangura who has been representing the crew all around Europe of late, brings his own blend of charisma and creative flair. The more recently joined Olita will also be joining in the fun.
From night into day, and then back into the evening, there’s plenty of time to play with here. And a mighty musical program to boot. This really is going to be one for the books, need we say any more?
