Moroccan Born, Italy-based tech-house maestro Munir Nadir shares a slice of acid-tinged goodness as part of Background Rimini’s second vinyl release which takes form as a V.A.
We premiere Munir’s B1. track ‘Guinea’ from the release, as it finds itself in good company, with Smoud Beats, Luca Piermattei and fellow Outcast Torino partner Alex Dima all making an appearance.
‘Background VA’ EP is a 4-way split tricolore triage that really gets down to business, bringing desired dance floor elements and nothing less. This stripped-back house sound is characteristic of Background Rimini and is heard in true fashion as Torino hotshot Alex Dima kicks off the story with his track ‘Twisted’, a phat, low-slung house tip with playful basslines and punchy beats. This is nicely contrasted with A2. ‘Smartcold’ by fellow Italian and Rimini-based Luca Piermattei AKA L.P, which takes things deeper with hypnotic acid lines and grooves aplenty.
This ties it together nicely with the B-side as we flip over for classic and euphoric vibes from Mr. Munir Nadir himself with ‘Guinea’, finished off nicely by the Smoud Beats duo who drop ‘Orbital 9090’, an acid bomb that hits deep with future bound pads and vocal chops.
BR02 makes for a healthy output from Background Rimini, and after a tasty first release from Paolo Mosca, it’s safe to say we’re excited what’s next from the crew.
