Trommel favourites Rowle return with their latest offering. The Italian label have been steadily building a roster of class talent. Each release tends to showcase an artist debut with one or two strong remixes in toe. You don’t know who might be coming next, but each time it’s a pleasant surprise. RWL007 presents Bazmann, with Silat Beksi and VincentIulian on remix duties.
Recent years have seen Ukrainian artist Beksi rise from strength to strength, rather quickly. And deservedly so. He has been churning out productions, in the process coining a signature sound of deep minimal, textured with spacious groove. His remix of ‘5am’ is another testament to his abilities.
The backbone of the track is apparent from the off. Deep, pacey bassline thrusts a groove that you just know is going to sound excellent on a sound system. Made for a party, energy pulsates from all directions. The high piano melody dances a steady constant, gradually manipulated through a filter between the high and the low.
Rhythm is sharp, as simple as light tapping hats and a forceful clap orchestrating the march while synth chords ooze the atmosphere over the top. In keeping with the title, this is one you could expect to hear deep into the night when the dancefloor is wild.
Minimal influences perfectly, with choppy, delayed vocals battling out mechanical layers. It’s littered with samples and full of sound, but the detail is meticulous. Silat Beksi has made this one his own.
Rowle’s selections are clearly on point, this following on from a Mihal Pol remix last year. And Juli Jah’s record art continues to compliment, as the link between art and music only grows fonder.
Pre-order the record from deejay.de, shipping from 1st June.
