One of Uruguay’s most esteemed selectors and an integral part of the Phonotheque team, Emilio has been formative in the creation of one of the world’s most exciting emerging scenes. Having helped to build a foundation in Montevideo for a new crop of artists to take their place on the world stage, Emilio has now made the move to Barcelona. This flit has already been worth its weight in air miles as his appearances in the city have been welcomed by the legion of electro heads that rightly pride Phonotheque as one of the most influential imprints in the world.
A quick scan of the internet and you will be hard pressed to track down an official mix from him in the past year which makes our latest edition of our mix series all the more tantalising. Known for his extended sets which cover the full range of the electronic spectrum, although his mix for us is 90 minutes long Emilio still manages to cover a lot of bases. From the sublime synth laden intro he quickly moves through the gears that rounds corners of pulsating breaks, lush paddy soundscapes, to more wigged out modular techno. A true force of nature and no mistaking, it is easy to see why his selections are so revered.
