South Korean artist Mogwaa has added a great many audio strings to his bow, resulting in the Seoul stalwart appearing on many top labels. Outings include White Lunar, Altered Circuits, Soundkoh Collective, More Rice, and Klasse Wrecks, as well as many regional appearances, such as the recent essential Korean gathering The Air House.
It is with great excitement that we welcome Mogwaa to our Free Download series, and his track “Torrassa” hits the nail firmly on the head. Tight percussion and an arpeggiating synth lead out proceedings and are soon joined by a deep paddy bassline and airy atmospheres. It is, however, when the euphoric fluted synth reveals itself that the true nature of the track rears its head. Designed for the open air, there is no doubt that this would have done serious damage in the wooded surroundings of The Air House a few weeks ago.
