London-based label and promoter Picnic Records have quickly picked up where they left off before the pandemic announcing a huge line-up for their one-day festival, ‘Someplace Somewhere’ in London on July 17th after the success of the first edition last August, when the crew organized a well-curated event inviting London fellow artists such as Harry McCanna, Hamish & Toby and Truly Madly for an open-air rave, one of the few events that took place in the UK capital last summer.
Just before March last year there were Picnic showcases at Parker Lewis, Hoppetosse and even the crowning moment of their 8th birthday at fabric, featuring an all-star lineup of Slow Life’s Laurine and Cecilio, Christian AB going back-to-back with Quest, Truly Madly and head-honcho Andy Luff himself.
Their line-up for July includes some classic Picnic artists with a few newcomers sprinkled in for good measure. Francesco Del Garda will be pulling up to East London with a bag full of obscurities and party starters, whilst Laurine and Cecilio are back in London for the first time since their closing duties at Fabric back in March.
Also on the line-up is Truly Madly, who blew the metaphorical roof off Picnic Records’ first edition of ‘Someplace Somewhere’ event last time around, as well Christian AB, Hamish & Toby. You can also be expected to be treated to a UK-first of a triple back-to-back of up-and-coming Berlin-based diggers with Sugar Free playing alongside fellow Ghost crew associate Fonte and Malika.
Rounding off the line-up will be of course be Picnic Records boss Andy Luff with Herra and Louis Jay B2B Jack Swash providing support.
The event will see the collaboration with BioSURE UK, providing a full solution to ensure all COVID-19 regulatory testing processes are adhered to for the event, as well as a partnership with mental health charity Chasing the Stigma
On-site, the concept goes beyond the music with a number of cultural offering such as vinyl fairs (Waxx Material, Seawolf Records, Bizarre Traxx & second-hand vinyl sellers) plus Live art installations, independent fashion stalls, art sculptures, workshop as well as a pop-up hair salon and, of course, several food concepts for the attendees to enjoy the day.
