Birmingham-based event series and record label have been responsible for some of the best minimal bookings in the Midlands. When you consider the musical hotspots that are a relative stone throw from the likes of Manchester, Leeds and further afield in London competition are hot. In the few short years that Dubøka has been in operation, they have hosted some of the scene’s main players that includes SIT, Mihai Pol and for their first birthday, Lizz and Gescu played back to back.
The lack of parties has been hard to bear for most and with the recent announcement of England postponing full unlock until next month the need to rave is at fever pitch. It would seem that Dubøka have timed their return to perfection and what an event they have in store. Taking place on August Bank Holiday on Sunday, August 29th the open-air party will have not one but three Romanian stars on its line-up. Heading up the party will be long time Dubøka wish list artist Barac.
Long flowing locks might just be a bit of a theme of the party as closely following Barac is Mihigh and his wild hair and even wilder tracks will suit the Dubøka crowd down to the ground. Completing the guest lineup for this special party will be long-time associate Bryz who, after his last appearance and ‘Digbeth’ EP for the label he was certain to make a return. As always, the Dubøka residents will also be on hand to provide those early grooves. As well as this amazing array of artists they will also decamping to a new unused outdoor venue The Wharf where they intend to elt their hair down for the day.
As well as the open-air day party the Dubøka crew are going all out with an epic after party at SUKI10C to boot and they have none other than Mihigh at the controls from start to finish. So, there may be a delay to English parties getting back to business but Dubøka will be more than give you something to look forward to with these pair of events.
