Premiere: A1 – Traumer – Perspective [BERGAMON15]

Berg Audio have always linked with the biggest names in the scene and have nurtured rising stars such as Lola Palmer, Nick Beringer, and Haventepe. However, the new ‘Horizons’ VA is a totally different beast altogether as standout artists from the last few years all converge on the sprawling 3 x 12” release.

We have already highlighted tracks from Cristi Cons and Mihai Popoviciu but we welcome back to our pages French sensation Traumer. One of the most bankable artists of 2021 and he has an impressive range when it comes to the sounds he commands but on his addition to the Berg Audio release we find him in a hypnotic dubby mode.

Where else to start with this massive body of work that A1 with Traumer’s ‘Perspective’ and what a way to kick off the release. Muted kicks and a rolling bassline lead out with uttered female vocals that have chopped and intertwined to create a hypnotic platform for the rest of the track to launch from. Sizzling hats and claps soon finely punctuate the mix ahead of the tension building break that has been a part of Traumer’s recent blockbusting sets at the likes of UNUM and his recent B2B with Cristi Cons at FUSE London’s label showcase at Printworks. These finely nuanced productions are what set Traumer in a class of only a few.

The remainder of the VA reads like a who’s who of minimal stars with Floog, Priku, Janaret, Per Hammar, Ada Kaleh & Jay Bliss, Altitude, DJOKO & Nikita SISOV, Steve O’Sullivan and a collab between Traumer and Brawther all turn in top deep cuts. Yet again the minimal leaning community confirm just how talented a bunch they all are as they easily turn their hand to deep house, electro, techno and of course minimal. Bravo to Berg Audio as they deliver another top release.
