Multidisciplinary label Afterhours. continues the exquisite minimal journey with the 7th “episode” of their AFHR series. In today‘s episode Limbic stars Aron, a rising Swiss wizard with an ever-growing discography since his first release in 2019, who carefully crafted three groovy artworks, and Arno (aka Einzelkind), the mastermind behind the Pressure Traxx record label, with his interpretation of “Limbic”.
Fast-paced, vivid rhythms alongside puzzling vocals and quirky pads that come and go as thunders on the sky, characterize Arno’s remix of “Limbic” on side B2. It’s a track that gets your blood pumping within its first few seconds, with sweet cosmic sounds and an infectious energy. A proper animated minimal piece that can’t keep you off the dancefloor for too long.
With its rather symmetrical melodic line – as the rhythm of “Prawn Repetitions” on the A1 would seem, it’s a track that surprises you with all the little erratic and sporadic sounds that appear unexpectedly, while a mysterious voice keeps whispering “I’m a Shrimp” throughout its end.
Tribal drums flow rhythmically along the bassline, paving the start of “Inverse Perspective” on side A2. Housey synths and delicate cosmic notes alongside whispery vocal samples make their way throughout the track as the drums continue their trajectory to a soulful and satisfying finale.
“Limbic”, Aron’s title track on side B1 might seem calm at first, but just like the sea – once the wind blows, things get rough and waves appear. It’s a track that feels caught between two different worlds trying to communicate with each other, with its alien-like first half, and warmer, more human second part giving you a more familiar feeling.
The lovely record will be officially released on September 27th and it can be pre-ordered from here by then.
