Crowd Controlol returns to Trommel with a new premiere showcasing a collaborative project with Freak The Disco.
The Miami based producers have been pumping out an array of peak-time house music, collaborating with vocalists to shape a fresh and uplifting aesthetic. This latest outing lands on the Washington-based label Witty Tunes who have been a prolific force in the realms of digital digging.
Their output has been responsible for nurturing the careers of artists such as Jacobo Saavedra, Lose Endz, and Ray Mono over the years. Pushing a sound that remains in a stripped back and relaxed vibe, whilst packing a peak time punch with rolling basslines and snappy percussion injecting life into the rhythm.
Crowd Controlol & Freak The Disco are a perfect compliment to this vision, presenting up-front, no-frill club tracks ready to light up just about any dance floor. Moods are interestingly sunkissed and hopeful, glacing gentle chords and sweeping pads over a mean beat that fills the loop with life.
Matching the playful name of Witty Tunes, each track carries a tongue-in-cheek vibe both in sound and title featuring the likes of ‘Rolid as a Sock’ and the featured ‘No Shitty Outros’.
Whether it’s inspired by their coastal surroundings or the feel-good scene blossoming in South Florida, this unique strain of house music is spreading fast. This four track EP marks the catalogue number WT415 for the Witty Tunes label, joining the hundreds of releases spread across a series of sub labels and spin offs that have navigated the crew’s vision over the years.
Label showcases have also featured around Europe in the likes of Budapest and Kiev presenting the varying palate of artists that have contributed to the label since it’s inception.
