With a touring schedule that reads like a who’s who of planet Earth’s underground music scene, Moroccan-born Malika in her own words admits still has a ways to go. Having become an integral part of our sonic maelstrom, she commands top billing wherever she plugs in her headphones, be that Dimensions, Dias De Campo, ReSolute, Can You Jigit, Waterworks Festival, or Dekmantel Selectors.
Another such large-scale gathering where she has been entrusted with the soundtrack is Vietnam’s Equation Festival and amongst the lush green and staggering rock formations is where this week’s mix comes via. Channeling the unique energy of her surroundings Malika takes us on a journey through lush tripped out house before dialing up the pressure with punchy riddims coupled with dreamy deep moods. With a career that has already spanned several decades her every wondering creative mind is ever ready to take the next exciting step in her evolution.
