French label and artist Politics Of Dancing return with POD Cross EP release and this time around he has combined with another two top artists. Having already linked up with Djebali, D’Julz, Cab Drivers and Okain to name just a few they now add Djoko and Lowris to the growing list of collaborators. The split EP is, as always aimed squarely at the dancefloor and it features a pair of dynamite groovers.
Kicking off with Lowris on B1 and his joint venture with Politics of Dancing has all the hall marks of a POD release. Snappy percussion, reduced grooves and punchy basslines are all underpinned by an opposing floaty pad. Just the right amount of vocal chops and strings are all that is needed to propel Lowris’ collab forward and this will most definitely be cropping up in some rather big sets this summer.
Flipping over to side A and P.O.D. and Djoko have rock solid bass fuelled bomb on their hands. The old skool organ chords and zapping synths offer an upfront yet dubby approach to making the dancefloor move. There is even more attitude shoehorned into this track with the arrival of the vocal during the breakdown and the energy this brings remains for the duration of the track. Politics Of Dancing is a masters of their groove packed and their work with similarly charged artists means that these releases are mostly buy on sight.
