Premiere: A3 – KAIR – Let’s Get It! [RTR001]

Real Talks Records began their story back in Brazil in 2015, where they hosted grassroots, community-driven parties that propelled them to become an established presence in the South American party scene. Having welcomed the likes of Robin Ordell, Junki Inoue and more to their spiritual home of Brazil, the crew have since made the transatlantic transplant over to Dublin, where the party continues. Aside from supporting a host of local artist, their newfound settings have seen them call upon the likes of Harry McCanna, Sakro, Zach G, Gabriel Belabbas, Mari.te and more to provide some serious soundtracking for their revellers.

It is with great pleasure we share the third tune from the A-side, from Brazilian bad boy DJ/Producer KAIR, an artist whose music embodies the very spirit of the party. With the VA designed to provide insights as to what you will hear at one of Real Talks’ parties, “Let’s Get It!” is primed for that pivotal moment where the dancing becomes fully uninhibited as folks lose their shit! We can easily see this one getting dropped and doing the damage at some of dance music’s loosest venues, I’m thinking some sun-soaked oasis would receive this one perfectly, played right in the heat of the party.

“First Contact” EP derives its name from titular track and first up on the release from label owner CROÍ. In Irish, the word “CROÍ” (pronounced KREE) means “heart”. And that “heart” can definitely be felt in this one as we hear a deep, dedicated journey, laden with drums and natural textures, the track ebbs and flows nicely as it creates, space, fills it then recedes. Top work from CROÍ AKA Royce Laroca.

A2. Takes things up a step as Dublin export Lukey delivers some heat, setting his sights for the dancefloor in “Target Lock”. Well-structured rhythms interact with tasteful lead lines and cunning synthesis, he delivers a succinct slice of electro-tinged, housey goodness that keeps it tight throughout. Following a stream of successful releases on Carpets & Snares, The Wizard’s Sleeve, Void Project and more, the Dubliner is now resident in Barcelona and is very much making himself known on the European circuit.

The B-side keeps it just as cool, jetting off with “Rainbow” from fellow Brazilian artist and Breezy Recs co-founder Sahm. Whilst this track is stylistically synonymous with A2.’s “Target Lock” in terms of sound, it embodies an entirely different energy. A twilit, unrelenting tale that oozes classic goodness, broken beats and tastefully structured intervals that inject vigour throughout, keeping things pumping and ravers moving right through the night.

HVSN rounds out the VA with a retrospective look at early acid, groovy cuts and propellant vocal chops in “Bust This”. Based in Curitiba, Brazil, HVSN flirts with electro, trance and house beats as he delivers effervescent sounds that keep things bouncing, slick and grooving all the while.

A solid first output from Real Talks Records, a varied and dynamic VA that differs from track to track whilst maintaining shared sensibilities throughout. Keep an eye on the label for more to come in future, and if you happen to be in Dublin, you know where the party is at!
