Irenic label boss Roger Gerressen launches a new, special EP for the labels next release. For this project, Roger invites two very talented artists to remix the well-known track “Faithful“, which was lately reissued: Steve O’Sullivan (under his alias Bluetrain) and Varhat.
On the A side we have the Bluetrain Special Edition Dub remix, which, as the title suggests, has an addictive dubby feel to it. Moreover, Bluetrain adds a punchy kick to complement the tracks flow, giving it a highly effective groove.
Varhat is in charge of the B side and gives Faithful a modern touch, keeping a similar structure to the original, yet adding a variety of deep pads and synths, accompanied by a rolling bassline. Perfect at any point in time throughout the night.
Just in time for this upcoming release, an Irenic Night have been booked at infamour Parisian club Rex for 13 April 2019. The event is featuring the debut of Steve Rachmad’s “Parallel 9 set”, Steve O’Sullivan live set and a b2b between Roger Gerresen and a member of Yoyaku crew, appearing currently as secret guest on the bill. To conclude, Jocelyn, with whom Roger founded ESHU Records back in 2010.
The Nijmegen-born producer is always very prolific in the studio, and with his style falling between dub-techno and minimal is definitely an artist that needs to be monitored very closely. His discography to date is impressive, with releases on All Inn’s sublabel Nilla, Yoyaku’s Joulie Imprint and Tartouffe as well as Fasten Musique, Fear Of Flying, Sushitech records, his own Irenic and most recently Mosaic.
If you are around, don’t miss Irenic at Rex Club on 13/04/2019 – tickets
