After the last year’s blast, the enigmatic UN:PHAZED series is ready to strike again. Despite a mention of John Dimas on Discogs, the true identities behind it remain unknown, so we’re sticking with “unknown artist” for now. But that doesn’t matter because the tracks are phenomenal anyway.
Our top pick is the A2—a seriously groovy track with a killer bassline and infectious piano stabs. It’s moderately paced, with a touch of bigroom vibes, with a major theme shift around the 3:40 mark— that’s when we can go full berserk. Plus, there are some killer acid notes towards the end. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it?
Speaking of acid notes, the record kicks off with plenty of those on the A1 track. But what’s even more noteworthy is the infusion of hip-house elements. The B1 track brings some serious business with its almost metallic squelches, while the B2 introduces some sexy female vocals layered over its similarly metallic base.
I don’t see any reason why this second release shouldn’t perform just as well as the previous one, so you’d better head to Juno, Deejay, Decks, or call your dealer to reserve a copy for yourself ASAP.
