Such is the fashion in minimal these days to release tracks under the name of Unknown Artist that there are libraries full of music attributed to this mysterious artist. In all fairness, some of these tracks are some of the finest examples of minimal music that you are likely to come across and the buzz and hype that it creates is great for the genre and the whole mystery of the craft and quite rightly deserved too. The only bad thing is not knowing where to direct the massive round of applause that these tracks are worthy of.
That man nobody again steps up for the 4th instalment of Romanian label DRG Series which, from the offset a dreamy pad and crunchy drum groove combines with a that is bounding bassline that underpinned the whole track. The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted straight away that this is a very well executed minimal edit of Cerrone’s arp heavy disco bomb ‘Supernature’. Being a massive fan of the original the producer behind DRGS004 has done a great job of updating this for the modern cosmic dancefloors. Top marks.
You can get your hands on this mysterious 12” when it is released on Monday, April 8th visit Juno.
