Luther Vine at Phonica Records is pressing forward with the next release on Fragments of Reality with the help of Subb-an. The 20:20 Vision born platform launched late last year with a standout intro from Voigtmann. Another exclusive VA is on the way and this time Vine himself is featured within the grooves on the wax, with Subb-an on the colab.
The ONE Records boss last featured on our pages back in 2020, as the label toasted to a decade in the game. An artist well versed in serving up deep, rolling chuggers this is an ideal pairing for Vine as he celebrates his first track release.
Twisted beginnings set the scene in ‘Expression’. Quick fire hi hats drive the tempo, accompanied by a pacey groove that surges from the depths of the bassline. Growling synth reverberates a menacing chug, sexy and sordid in its delivery.
Melodies tinker over ghoulish echos, warping into vocal chatter that is dusted and curious. It’s a raucous pot of deviousness, blending wild energies from fire lit thump to a softer, friendlier glide. Always intent on making you move, this monstrous beat is set to swallow up the dance floors it dominates.
Niceties brush through gracefully as it comes to a head. The mood has been flip reversed, heading for closure more quaintly before the sultry tone of the start sees it off.
Subb-an & Luther Vine are joined on the EP by Rudolf C, Voodoos & Taboos and Eris. Together they serve up a nicely rounded second in the Fragments of Reality series.
Release date is tomorrow and the record can be bought from Phonica here.
