Wicked Bass Records already taught us to pay attention to their announcements and showed us that even mentioning their release online could spark massive hype. That is exactly what happened with this one – I put some hints onto this premiere when it appeared in our posted videos and immediately got comments and even private messages with some “Track ID” requests. No wonder why, it’s Shonky – one of the hottest producers on the scene right now, on a label, that usually delivers.
We picked A1 for ourselves – “The Way It Goes” is simply the biggest banger of the release, made totally in the freshest Shonky style—stripped-down, spooky vibes from the very first second, complimented with trippy vocals. If somebody decides one day to make a horror movie about the club (as the place) – it should be considered as a piece of OST. And how good it works on the dancefloors, man!
But that’s only the first one – we have also “Compromise”, another piece of recognizable Shonky’s production, that sounds kinda like his “S-Time” track from the E.P.I. label, but with a bit more banging possibilities. The pace is perfect. “Darkness Is Around” slows us down a bit, keeping us stomping our legs at the same time – another perfect spooky piece we’re having here with almost sirens-like vocals. My second favorite from the record. And the last one, “Kranken Sister”, somehow, again sends us to that aforementioned “S-Time”, but this time with some other elements. Also is spooky in its way, must say, while being a bit lighter than all the other ones here.
I won’t send you to buy this record, because you probably already have your links ready. No? Seriously? Then – Juno, Deejay, Decks… But be fast here, people!
