Charonne returns to their label, Velvet Spirit, with another 4-tracker that fits neatly into their signature style—while trying something a little rawer this time. Let’s explore.
The opener, “Heavy Metal,” introduces a buzzing bassline, possibly the heaviest one in Velvet Spirit’s catalog so far. But despite this intensity, the vocals bring us back to familiar territory, albeit with a more serious tone than usual.
“Lunatic Boogie” slows things down slightly, still with a buzzing bassline, though not as powerful as the A1. Think dark French disco—if that’s not a thing yet, it is now. “Ghostface Lova” combines another killer bassline with sexy vocals, its slower pace enhancing its appeal. Finally, “Girl” rounds things out in that same dark disco vein, but with a French touch that adds just enough lightness to keep it balanced.
Velvet Spirit releases are known for flying off the shelves, so don’t wait too long. yoyaku, Viniil, and Decks are already waiting for your pre-orders.
