Human Behaviour Records launches its first release with a record that feels connected by both geography and shared musical language. Bringing together artists from the UK, Argentina, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, the debut EP leans into timeless club aesthetics while allowing each contributor to bring their own perspective to the dancefloor.
Our premiere focuses on the synth-heavy banger packed with nostalgia, ‘Can You Feel It’ from NDMA. It is a fruity weapon that stinks of 80s influence from the outset. The subtle acid bassline harmonises with a punchy drum machine palette full of life. Cowbells, quirky snare drums and a lustful energy burst through the mix, giving the track an infectious sense of movement.
Subtle strings pull on the heartstrings through a suspended sequence before opening up into a luscious sea of melody. Warm pads wrap themselves around the groove while classic gated vocals inject an ecstatic quality that feels rooted in the golden years of house music. There’s a huge inspiration from acid house, electric and euphoric. Vocoder work becomes central to the groove, weaving between the bass notes with crisp precision and adding another layer of character to an already vibrant arrangement.
What works particularly well is the restraint. Despite the abundance of melodic elements, nothing feels overcrowded. There is a genuine sense of space between sounds, allowing the groove to breathe naturally. Fizzing drum fills and bubbling acid lines steadily increase the tension, creating a rolling momentum. The track carries an old school spirit throughout, keeping things classic and relatively stripped back.
There is a pronounced mood running through the production. It’s playful, sleazy and confident without becoming overly polished. References to classic-sounding synths and era-defining sounds are clear, but they are handled with enough care to feel like a celebration rather than an imitation. Every synth stab, vocal phrase and drum hit appear where it needs to be.
Running for more than eight minutes, the track takes its time to unfold. As it reaches its final stages, the arrangement opens into a crescendo, breaking down into a melodic haven before teasing the return of the kick several times. It’s a peak time bomb full of life, equal parts euphoric and mischievous, with the kind of energy that can lift a room without resorting to obvious tricks.
Elsewhere on the EP, contributions from Sozef & Michael Richard, Joi and Cobes each bring their own unique strain of club music.
For a debut release, Human Behaviour Records arrives with a clear identity already in place. Rooted in classic influences but delivered with contemporary confidence, it is an encouraging first statement from a label that looks set to connect scenes and sounds far beyond its borders.
You will shortly be able to get your hands on the VA in digital stores.
