Camion Bazar, aka French duo Benedetta and Romain Play, have been working towards their sweet spot for over a decade now, and if you’ve spent any time around Rinse France or wandered into Station Gare des Mines on the wrong (right) night, you’ve probably already caught them mid-dig, crates deep, refusing to let the set sit still.
What they do isn’t easily boxed — dub techno slides into 90s techno, prog trance edges into rave house, and somehow it all reads as one coherent, slightly unhinged story rather than a genre tour. The whole thing is vinyl-only, which in 2026 still feels like a small act of defiance, and it shows: these are DJs who trust the format to slow them down and make every transition count.
They’re not just behind the decks either — Enemy Dance is their own imprint, Voltage is their party, which is equal parts techno, punk, and scenography. Also, their live AV show has been quietly reshaping what people expect from a “DJ set” over the last couple of years. Camion Bazar doesn’t really do quiet nights.
For this week’s podcast, we find Camion Bazar in DJ mode. Judging by their extensive touring schedule, it is clear to see they have been soaking up all the new music that has come their way, and it has been folded into an already impressive package. Leaning into the deeper, sultry side of dub techno and dubby house, this is used as the backbone of their sound on this particular journey. From this core sound, their mix fragments off into more minimal cuts here, electro-tinged bombs there, sometimes more progressive and tribal tones, but always underpinned by the sleekness of an understated groove.
