Back in September, we delivered the news on Soper Univers’s first Sunday Situation, well the French promoters are back for another edition at Café Barge on Sunday, February 9th and this time they have extended an invitation from one of Barcelona’s tightest minimal crews – Watermelon. For those that perhaps are not up to speed this BCN crew’s work, they make it their goal to seek out the finest venues around and submerge all those in attendance with only the best music by way of their super talented resident artists Triad. The crew’s very own Slice Music platform is also pitching their audio vision on a global scale and has garnered support from the scene’s tastemakers.
Since the last Sunday Situation, Soper Univers have been working their magic in the Paris underground and have delivered their unwavering party vision in the form of their November event. This featured a sublime hook-up with Miroloja‘s OLO Records and that meant sets from Romanian hotshot producer Mihai Pol, groove machine Silat Beksi and of course the main man himself Miroloja. Again, the party didn’t stop with the main event and carried on well into the next day at a second venue. This free-thinking approach to their events will stand them in good stead when they meet up with Watermelon who also feel that the party should be played out how they want it to rather than be dictated to by restrictive rule and regulations.
With this in mind, the crew pairing will be joining forces for a Sunday session that will kick off when most other clubs are thinking about going home for the night. Starting the party at 3am at one of Paris’ premiere after spots Café Barge will be primed by as yet announced artist before the Watermelon tag team of Triad take to the decks. This will all lead towards the headlining performance from none other than Christopher Ledger. An artist in every sense of the word who consistently impresses as a result of his masterful releases on labels such as Animae Ltd, Brouqade Records, Mayak, Meander and of course his own fantastic CL Series imprint, without leaving out is newest EP for Amphia; and that is still not even mentioning Ledger’s superhuman skills in the DJ booth.
Great things will surely happen when these 2 after-hours’ specialists combine in Paris and it would be a sin to miss it if you are in the vicinity.
