Several promoters across Europe have now cancelled events amid COVID-19 outbreak

As the world watches on in horror as the COVID-19 virus continues to hit headlines as music festivals and large scale events such as Yoyaku’s Airdrome with Ricardo Villalobos have already been postponed to Saturday, July 11th more events continue to be affected. With the recent news that Italy has gone on lockdown and in turn they have now cancelled all current club events to avoid any spread of the virus with most notably Goa Club’s Nozoo event with Margaret Dygas and Francesca Del Garda falling foul of the virus.

As Switzerland borders Italy which has seen some of the worst European cases the mountainous 3-day Caprices Festival that was due to play host to names such as Marco Carola, Sven Vath and Dana Ruh next month has now also been canceled for the same reasons. Following suit within the last 24 hours Romania’s Club Guesthouse and several other Romanian promoters such as Undertheivy and Club Eden are also now following a similar route.

In a statement released via the club’s Facebook page, GH has confirmed that they will be halting their events with the event on Saturday, March 14th is canceled but no further information on any events there after being affected. With the club in the process of throwing their last parties at the current space, the team at GH will be keen to get back to business as soon as possible ahead of the final closing weekend event on Friday, May 29th. The full statement from Club Guesthouse in full is below…

“We face hard decisions now. Upcoming March weekends will not go forward as planned, being postponed to a later date due to national safety measures concerning Covid-19. All events exceeding 200 participants are considered risky, avoiding crowded places being one of the main recommendations.
Although we feel there should be nothing to stop us from dancing, we are concerned about everyone’s health and we think it’s best to stay safe and comply with the measures imposed.
We will keep you posted regarding our comeback. Hope to see you again soon!
P.S. If you already bought tickets for the upcoming events, you can ask for a refund at eventbook.ro

In all cases common sense, reason and of course good hygiene should be applied, the main message coming from all camps is that of keeping safe and ensuring that the virus is not given the chance to spread to those who are most at risk which is deemed to be those with diminished immunes, the elderly and the young. These precautions are echoed by Parisian venue Rex Club ahead of their event with Traumer who invites Berg Audio and they will remain open. If you are going out dancing over the course of the next few weeks or out in public, in general, please be mindful of others and take the necessary hygiene precautions.
