Three collectives central to the tight-knit community of the European underground are joining forces for a unique showcase only possible at the annual Amsterdam Dance Event.
Alex Picone’s Seekers project has been an influential force in the scene for many years, presenting memorable records and events at Berlin’s Hoppetosse and CDV with artists and friends close to the label. Maintaining a relatively low-key presence, the focus is always on the music and sharing their influences from both past and present.
The boutique artist agency Rings of Neptune holds a similar ethos. Born from a passionate crew of artists between the two projects Rotate and Pluie/Noir, the agency has now evolved into an independent label, artist management and music publishing house. Headed up by Cleymoore, the agency now takes care of a diverse selection of rising talent including Rubi, Penelope and Ethan McNamara.
Central to this year’s ADE showcase is the Amsterdam-based collective Kraft und Licht. Regularly hosting events and assisting other collectives to realise their concepts and provide expert assistance via their team of promoters, DJs and venue managers who know both sides of the industry inside out.
Combining these three devoted collectives, Sunday the 22nd of October will host a 12-hour feast with artists from each crew. Running from 1pm-1am, prepare to get stuck into a series of extended sets from some of the best to do it.
This bespoke curation is a great example of the unique opportunities ADE creates, with almost every artist in the city, the options for creating interesting line-ups are endless. The same goes for the number of intimate venues on offer – this showcase will take place at the cosy De Sering space of just 275 capacity.
Seekers will be represented by label boss Alex Picone and the sonic hypnotist Desyn. Known for his impeccable turntablism and a mind-blowing digging habit, Desyn joining forces with Alex Picone is sure to be a special scenario, bringing decades of experience to the table.
Rings of Neptune boss Cleymore will play back-to-back with the eclectic selector Rubi to honour the agency. French-born and Lisbon-based artist Penelope also features, bringing her slick selections and a sprinkle of her own productions which have recently landed on the Brussels label For Playful Manners.
Amsterdam residents mainstays Iggy P and DJ Merlin finalise the bill. Both central to the Kraft Und Licht operations, these devoted selectors will set the tone on home turf alongside this collection of legends.
