Following the release of his impressive, multi-genre debut album ‘Junipero’ on Voyage back in February, and his superb ‘Ayo Skidlo’ EP on SlapFunk Records last month, Huerta has announced the launch of his record label, Leizure.

‘Leizure is going to be the home for my most prized gems that I’ve been saving for a while,’ Huerta explains. ‘I had the idea to start the label based on my friends in Berlin going crazy over “Ruff Groove” the A1 from 001. This moment coincided with a few strong EPs the year before, and it seemed that the timing was perfect to finally do my own thing.’

As well as gaining traction recently with his successful releases, the LA-born, Berlin-based artist has also played alongside Berlin favourites The Ghost, Gene on Earth and Sugar Free and featured as Dimensions 198th podcast back in March. It’s been a strong year for Huerta, who seems to have hit his stride.

Kicking off with a killer EP from the man himself, ‘Dog at Sea’ is a solid introduction to Leizure. And it’s clear why his friends encouraged him to get ‘Ruff Groove’ out there – it’s an addictive track with plenty of dance floor potential. The B1 and B2 tracks are equally inviting, each one tinged with Huerta’s radiant Californian optimism and his relaxed take on tech-house. ‘I’d like to think the tracks I’m choosing for Leizure are the epitome of the style I’ve been developing in the last few years; quintessential Huerta vibes.’

With the next few EPs already lined up with more of Huerta’s finest unreleased material, Leizure is definitely one to keep a close eye on.

‘Dog at Sea’ will be available from the end of October, and is available to pre-order now.
