For those familiar with the Frankfurt clubbing landscape of the early to mid 00’s will be well versed in the goings on in the city’s UFO Building. As well as being a stroke of architectural genius this well named building was also home to Sven Vath’s Cocoon Club. The webbed walls and finely curated dancing and social spaces played host to all manner of hedonistic goings on and luckily for the German clubbing community the venue has been given a new lease of life in the shape of Zoom Club.
In a similar vein to the Cocoon Club days of old there is something truly envelope pushing on the horizon. Taking place across 22 hours beginning on Saturday, May 28th indoor festival Soft Planet will deliver an impressive selection of genre bending artists across Zoom Club’s 2 floors of music. Most notable from the lineup is big hitters Quest and Christian AB who will play b2b, Nicolas Lutz, Vlada, Joy Orbison, Helena Hauff, home boy Vaahzer and Marcel Dettmann.
However, look a bit deeper there is much more besides to get very excited about. Belia Winnewisser and Subrihanna will be playing an immersive live A/V set. Meanwhile leftfield sounds and hot riddims will be provided by DJ Slyngshot as well as Juliana Huxtable, N9OC, Sedef Adasi, Shannen SP and upsammy will all play sets throughout the extended session. Before the music even gets going there will be two lectures and a screening will take place. With a view to melding together styles, genres and genders this will be a marathon worth staying up for.
