Italian label and its owner Estmode have always prized quality over quantity and hold artistry above all else. This is where the multi-faceted approach comes and with each passing release on their Vidre Handcraft Project the story grows.
From the very first edition back in 2019 the duo of label founders Ermir Zotaj and Simone Papi aka Estmode have pushed the boundaries of what can be done with an EP. A super limited piece of art that, with each release produces only 20 copies that is truly unique to the last. Each copy of the record is so unique that each piece of accompanying artwork is hand-painted by label founder and Estmode member Emir. As well as this the heavyweight slab of wax is also engraved by the founders of the label.
“Vidre Handcraft Project was born from the need to create a limited series where to publish the most intimate music of Estmode. In a historical moment where underground music becomes for the most part business, where everything is the same, where the market decides what to produce, we wanted to disassociate and create a unique series where music is at the center. The hand-drawn covers all different from each other, with hand-engraved vinyl of over 200 gr, numbered for engraving the vidre and like a diamond. It is not just a record to play but a unique piece to be kept with care as a precious thing. Vidre is forever”
This is also not even getting onto the subject of the music either. The music found on Vidre Handcraft Project is the most introspective works to come out of Estmode’s studio. Lush Rhodes piano’s stretch out alongside crisp modular percussion and deep organic basslines. We have been lucky enough to have delivered the last two EP’s and the intricacy of ‘Leploop’ on VHC004 and the recent ‘Fat Mailo’ on VHC005 show a progression that is both impressive and expected. When we say expected we mean that we have high hopes for the output from Estmode. In a world where convenience and replication is how some approach even art Vidre Handcraft Project is a real breath of fresh air.
