The Paris-based collective Distrikt has grown into a notoriously loose party in the French capital. Becoming known for reliable events with great sound, thoughtfully curated line-ups and a fully up-for-it crowd, their return to events is greatly anticipated.
After almost three years of postponed events besides their 6th birthday with Slow Life, the crew is back with a four-date residency spread throughout the year curating series of innovative line-ups. The next step in the evolution of Distrikt’s events takes them to the impressive Nexus Club.
Accompanied by the excellent sounding L-acoustics sound system, the space is a hybrid between a club and warehouse space, accompanied by 360-degree screens to propose a fully immersive visual impression.
French visual artist Dylan Cote will operate the visuals at the club, working his unique style into the Nexus experience. The space merges the best of both worlds in the comfort of a club space and the raw vibe that can only be provided by a warehouse, perfectly suited to the expressive sounds of the likes of Lutz and the digging community.
The first event will take place on April 9th with the My Own Jupiter maestro Nicolas Lutz, alongside fellow Montevideo wizard Z@P and Etienne’s new Unknown Future live set. Sets from local selectors Blanco and Mehdi M will also feature.
Inspired by the dedication amongst this corner of club culture, the collective’s vision began back in 2015 hosting regular events in clubs and warehouses around Paris.
During that time, the crew really expressed their versatile tastes within the genre-fusing pool of artists bringing the likes of Quest & Christian AB, Giammarco Orsini, Gene on Earth and Le Loup to name a few.
Future events are planned for June 25th, September 2nd and December 16th. Line-ups for each showcase are yet to be revealed, although the collective are hungry to go all out after an extended break from their passions.
Looking into the future, Distrikt Paris have a number of international exchanges with fellow promoters around the world. First up, Bassam & Blanco head to Leeds for a Distrikt Leeds x Distrikt Paris collaboration. The intimate venue will welcome Kosh live and Nemo Vachez for a nice of slick and sleazy rhythms.
