Distrikt Paris are going big for their seven-year anniversary split across two parts.
The French collective are a strong staple in the Parisian underground, regularly inviting the likes of Casa Voyager’s OCB, Slow Life and debuting Voigtmann and John Dimas’ VOIGT.MAS project in the city.
Their showcases at various venues around Paris have welcomed some of the scenes most influential selectors from Onur Özer, to Varhat and Evan Baggs. Their diverse selection over the years has graced many Parisian hotspots including FAUST, Nodd Club, Dehors Brut, the late CONCRETE, as well as many international showcases at the innovative Club der Visionaere, Wax Bar, RED58 and Hoppetosse.
In 2020, the crew also launched a vinyl label that has hosted Kosh, John Shima, Felipe Valenzuela, Bassam and MehdiM shaping their unique take on club music.
Stepping into their seventh year in the game, the crew now have a home at the newly found Nexus club in Paris. Earlier this year, they welcomed Nicolas Lutz, Etienne and Z@P for a mammoth session. It’s safe to say this crew know how to throw a party with top sound and keen ravers.
Part 1 of the birthday begins on Friday 9th December at Nexus, running from 10pm-7am. Longtime CDV resident Levat brings his exciting live set, working analogue synths with a punky zest and rhythm for days. Expect mesmeric moments from this dedicated artist in fine form.
Joining Levat is a trio of gracefully selected back-to-back sets. Two of Cartulis’ residents step up with Raphael Carrau going head-to-head with the prolific Le Loup. If Carrau’s selections at Nostromo are anything to go off, this set with the veteran producer and DJ Le Loop is set to be fiery.
The trusty Junki Inoue joins forces with Domesticated’s Bruno Schmidt for a memorable exchange. Both selectors carry bag of magic spanning decades through their tasteful lens, dipping into weird breaks and twisted melodies packed with character.
Taieb Chekir b2b Escko wrap up this trio of back-to-back sure to make for a memorable affair at the top sounding Nexus club. Part two of the birthday bash is yet to be announced, although you can be confident the party will not be stopping at 7am. The amount of talent and excellent sounding artists connected to the crew are trusted for a memorable part two.
