Now in its 17th year Caprices Festival makes the bold move to populate the iconic Swiss resort of Crans-Montana across 2 full weekends and in doing so presents some of the hottest artists who often, in turn, deliver perhaps the most talked-about sets of the year. Now running between Friday, April 17th to Sunday, April 19th and then again between Friday, April 24th and Sunday, April 26th Caprices is home to one of the world’s most striking venues – The Modernity Stage, but there is more to Caprices than just the vast greenhouse-like arena. With previous years’ gatherings featuring the Moon Stage this now vacates the festival in favour of two brand new stages – The Forest Stage and The Chalet Stage. Another new edition for 2020 is a new daytime stage at Cry D’Er, this new area is designed to directly complement the madness that will be going on at The Modernity Stage.
Moving on to the action and who will actually be populating these mountain topping stages and fans of these very pages are very well looked after. Starting at the top of the festival (20,000km up) is the Modernity Stage and across the first weekend there is a decidedly melodic house and techno feel to the stage with Sven Vath closing out the weekend with Dorian Paic supporting his smile-inducing antics. Moving down the mountainside the new Club Stage will feature sets from Given (James Mc Hale & Giorgio Maulini), Traumer, Guti (live), Archie Hamilton, Ion Ludwig (live) and Priku. Elsewhere The Forrest Stage will be programmed by Epizode on Saturday, while The Chalet Stage will be programmed by Swiss club Folklor on Saturday.
The following week and the second installment of Caprices Festival is just as good as the previous week and across the weekend The Modernity Stage will see performances from Alci, Dana Ruh, Flabbergast, Ricardo Villalobos B2B Edward, Sonja Moonear, Luciano, Yaya, and Marco Carola. Over at the Club stage amongst other Michel Cleis, Magda, Mathew Jonson (live), Steve Rachmad, Cesar Merveille, and Shaun Reeves and Ryan Crosson will play B2B. The madness continues at The Forrest Stage where the party will be programmed by Pyramid Ibiza on Friday and Dutch party bangers SlapFunk Records crew take over The Chalet Stage on Friday. At this stage, there are no further details on the stage takeovers for The Forrest and Chalet Stages but it is a certainty that these line-ups will be the icing on the cake for Caprices 2020.
