With the pandemic putting the European club scene in the shade Berlin is getting back to business as soon as it can in suitably Berliner style. In direct support of the music scene and club culture in Berlin, supporters took to the cities riverways in their thousands. Many clubs were represented via the myriad of barges, boats, and various other aquatic vehicles and the cities’ clubbers voiced their opinion on the country offering their help to the Berlin club scene. Under the slogan of ‘Save The Rave Culture’, the music led demonstration made some serious noise in favour of the city’s need for their club scene to return.
The parade however created some controversy because of the clash with a Black Lives Matter movement demonstration that was taking place in close proximity, and in general for ignoring the safety measures in place to avoid the spread of COVID-19. For this reason the parade was considered of bad taste.
There are also reports of particular negative attention on social media due to the area being allegedly completely trashed by participants
One step in the right direction of this most worthy cause is the summer-making news that one of our favourite Berlin spots Club der Visionaere is now open for business. With sadly no events on the docket for the open-air venue at the moment, we hope it won’t be long until CDV is back in action. There is little details on the musical setup but of course, we will give you the lowdown as soon as we can.
