Belisa Booking release first VA packed with family favourites

Berlin-based agency Belisa Booking ran by Isabelle Beese is well known for looking after some of the most in-demand artists around and for their first artist compilation it is this talented pool of artists that they have drawn from. With all artists appearing on this VA all being part of the Belisa Booking family the release was sure to be red hot and it doesn’t disappoint.

The Bandcamp only release begins with an acid-tinged breakbeat number from Argentinian hotshot Alexis Cabrera on ‘Too much RN (Dub)’ before he hands over to Fun Records partner Barem for more acid action on ‘Belly’. OG’s Cab Drivers make an appearance with their trademark groove packed roller ‘Move It’, featuring rattling hi-hats, seriously infectious chord stabs, and just the right amount of 303. In keeping with the acid theme, Ernesto Ferreyra uses it sparingly to add the funk to ‘T.A.S.E.’. Federico Molinari turns in a bleep filled early morning weapon in ‘Quinto’ while Monika Ross opts for a bass-heavy breakbeat effort with ‘Shuvit’. Nearing the business end of the release Nekes strips things down with the deep grooves found on ‘Sterope’ and Ray Okpara closes things out with the meandering drones of ‘A Long Mood’. A tidy package if ever there was one and a great snapshot of the talented pool of artists that call Belisa Booking home.

You can get your hands on the VA via Bandcamp.
