In keeping with the annual wax drop, We Are FTR are serving up record number three. That’s not to say label boss T. Fitzgerald hasn’t been busy with the London label of late. Alongside the monthly podcast series over on Threads, the We Are FTR digital series took off just in time for the New Year. Oros joined on the first dishing of digital and now he continues on to vinyl.
The Romanian artist has seen support from some big players in recent times. Both Rhadoo and Mihigh have been seen celebrating the sounds of Oros, most recently at last year’s edition of Sunwaves. He’s been given full reign as he completes his initiation into the We Are FTR family, serving up three of his own originals across both sides of the record.
Inside Out EP is a journey from the beginning. ‘Bartolomeo’ completes that journey with a deep finesse that bubbles to boiling point. Bassline pulsates a modest groove, a thump that guarantees to grip through a grand system. Long synth notes bring calm, a careful contrast to the crackled purr of the creature making contact through the means of the music underneath.
Percussion forms cracks, snaps and whips, a precise metronome steering a steady rhythm on the beat. It’s hypnotic and subtly grooving, fine tuned delicately with soothing sounds of strumming strings as the story comes to a close.
