Dancefloor-driving goodness presents itself in the form of “Patron”, as we share a slice from Pirka’s next vinyl release. Argentinian hotshot Kevin Toro lands 3 originals, with title-track “Kenny Bell” receiving remix treatment from Romanian veteran, “El Presidente”, Priku.
Following a stream of tasty releases on Floorpiece, Blind Vision, and Surge Records, Invisible records head-honcho Kevin Toro follows suite, offering up an infectiously groovy curation for Pirka.
We are delighted to premiere A2. “Patron”, a collaborative effort alongside fellow Argentinian DJ/Producer Ale Kis, as the pair work in tandem to deliver deep and soulful sounds that very much hint to the old school hip-hop and rave material, ushering in a fresh sense of nostalgia to some undeniable beats.
Titular track “Kenny Bell” rings in the A-side as he paints sunny scenes with elements from funk, house and heavy strokes of groove, finishing the piece with a slick varnish, adding that touch of cosmic flare across the board.
Flip to the B-side for some classic stuff from Atipic bossman Priku as he reimagines Kevin’s “Kenny Bell”. Relaxed grooves and spacious structure pair with militant drum programming, well-thought out and subtle melodies for a robust yet sensitive output, very nice work from Mr. Niculae as ever.
Rounding things out nicely on the EP is “Movie Wonder” which features deep and introspective tones as ominous vocals speculate over twisty pads that really tickle the brain, not to mention the fact this one really brings the bump – simplistic drum machine workouts and a tidy balance of elements, nice!
It comes surprise that Prika crew mark their 6th vinyl release since their beginnings in 2020, considering their efforts on the digital series and hotly tipped free download series on SoundCloud, the word prolific barely touches the sides. Previous releases have seen some top artists, with Varhat, Vincent Casanova, Loopdeville, Red Pig Flower and more, with the likes of Tommy Vicari Jnr., Triptil, Rhadow, TIJN and much more featuring as remixers. The North Macedonian outfit have been working very hard and show no signs of slowing anytime soon, ones to keep an eye on for sure.
